Hot To Set Up Cthulhu In Fl Studio

  1. Install Cthulhu into your vst folder destination.
  2. Open Fl and go to channels-> add one-> more. Click more.
  3. Click "refresh". The list will be updated and cthulhu should be highlighted in red. Click the check box next to it. (If cthulhu doesn't pop up. make sure you installed it into the right vst folder destination.)
  4. Load up cthulu as an instrument.
  5. Make sure to mute the speaker icon.
  6. Click the gear icon at the top window of the fruity wrapper, next to plugin options.
  7. In the Midi section set input port to 20. And set output port 20.
  8. Cthulhu is now set up for sending out midi data. Yaye! Now time to add an instrument for it play with.
  9. Load up any vst instrument you want. I choose PolyIblit. If you're going to play chords make sure you're using a polyphonic synth. (Else the arp section in Cthulhu is great for mono synths.)
  10. Click the gear icon in the upper window for your instrument.
  11. In the midi section set input port to 20.
  12. They're now connected!
  13. Go into the general settings of fl, and turn off "auto select linked channels". This will allow you to have more than one window open at once. Very helpful.
  14. In Cthulhu go down to "-Chord Presets-" and select from bachchorales0-99.
  15. Play a key. You're all set. Mess around. Have fun!
